Ingredients:
Around 10 small apples 16oz. (450g) brown sugar 4 oz. (125g) butter 8 oz. (225g) black treacle (molasses) Stron wooden toffee apple sticks or wooden lollipop sticks 1 tbsp vinegar Waxed paper or baking parchment
Method:
1. Wash the apples and dry them well.
2. Insert a wooden stick into each one, through the centre.
3. Put the sugar, treacle, butter and vinegar in a saucepan, stir well until it comes to the boil. Boil continuously for around 20 minutes...don't stir.
4. Quickly dip the apples in the hot toffee and then place on waxed paper/baking parchment until set hard...around half an hour.
The apples may need a second dip in the toffee before it sticks successfully. After the first dip, air dry for a few seconds and dip again ;D
